We designed these Firebacks back in the early 80's to fit into pre-fabricated fireplaces which were manufactured with refactory-brick. The rear walls made of this material would crack over a very short period time due to intense heat of fire. Placing a cast iron Firebacks against the rear wall would alleviate anymore damage caused by the heat of the fire.

Note: These Firebacks can be used in any type of fireplace.

          All Firebacks are painted satin black.
